UHSSE DOES NOT HAVE SUMMER SCHOOL
UHSSE has a 27 credit graduation requirement. It is strongly recommended that students attend summer school for any class failed at UHSSE in order keep pace with graduation requirements.
UHSSE accepts honors or college credit. Should a student attend summer school and earn such credit, an official report card/transcript must be provided to the UHSSE guidance department indicating the grade and credit earned.
UHSSE accepts summer school credit from West Hartford Public Schools summer program. Students can sign up with West Hartford Public Schools directly or see their UHSSE counselor for information. This sign up period begins well before the summer. Students should seek information and sign up before our March vacation.
West Hartford has a limited number of scholarships available for their summer school program. Scholarships are awarded on a first come first serve basis by West Hartford Schools, not UHSSE or HPS. There is a fee for West Hartford’s summer school should a student not receive a scholarship. That fee is charged to the student/family.
Students should also check with their own school district for summer school information. Remember, UHSSE accepts honors and college credit.
Students should get course recommendations from their school counselor prior to signing up for a summer class.
