UNDERSTANDING Attendance
Attendance policies
□ In high school, a student’s attendance is recorded for each class, every day.
□ Students are expected to be in class as scheduled unless excused by the school, a parent/guardian or medically.
□ Students will not receive credit for a class in which he or she has exceeded 10 unverified absences in a semester.
□ An unverified absence is an absence that hasn’t been excused by the school, a parent/guardian or medically.
□ If a student is out sick, he or she must bring in a written excuse within 2 days of his or her return to school in order for the absence to be excused.
□ If you have any questions about your attendance see the assistant principal or dean of students.
Students must earn credits in certain areas in order to meet the education requirements of the State of Connecticut and UHSSE. Your graduation requirements are listed in your student/parent handbook.
